Olsen, Interim Executive Director - September 2004 The Providence Athenaeum received notice that the plaintiffs have appealed the recent Superior Court decision affirming the right of the Athenaeum to sell its copy of John J. Audubon's Birds of America. This action is disappointing. Clearly, the plaintiffs' appeal is without merit. Both the General Assembly and the Superior Court have vindicated the board of directors' decision. The Athenaeum is confident it will prevail and is pursuing options with regard to expediting the sale of the Audubon folio.
