Classical Music CDs
A wide assortment of Classical music CDs are available on the Main Floor near the Reference Desk. These CDs are stored in long boxes and arranged by artist.
Other CDs
A small selection of CDs of assorted other music types (such as Jazz and World) can be found on the end of the New Book Shelf, near the Circulation Desk.
DVDs and VHS Tapes
DVDs and VHS tapes are both found in back of the Reference Desk. They are alphabetized by title.
Both DVDs and VHS tapes are categorized into the following genres:
- Documentary
- Adventure
- Musical
- Performing Arts
- Comedy
- Horror
- Foreign
- Television
- Christmas
The Call Number on the side of each film will be the genre followed by the first three letters of the title. For example, the movie Fargo has the Call Number:

As genre designations are subjective, please check the online catalog or with an Athenaeum staff member if you are looking for the location of a particular movie.
Audiobooks
The Athenaeum has audiobooks on both CDs and Cassettes. Both formats can be found behind the Reference Desk, between the DVDs/VHS tapes and the Children's Room.
